    i have some good live videos of songs and was wondering if i could covert them into mp3 so i can put them onto a cd to listen in the car. any ideas?

    no no no no no.

    the videos i have are on my computer in avi and mpeg format. i want to take the music from them and put them into a format which i can burn onto a cd and play in the car

    Use TMPGEnc with Lame.exe,import the video clip into Audio source->Settings and select MPEG-1 Layer 3->run.Then use MP3 Splitter to make tracks.
    Another option is to use TMPGEnc but use File->"Output to WAV file" then use Audacity to convert,Amplify and make tracks.
