  1. Alright here is the problem.

I ripped a dvd and i converted it to avi with DVD2AVI

I loaded the avi file and the wav file with Vitual Dub and i compressed it to 64 kb 22050. I clicked Full processing Mode in audio.

Then I clicked Direct stream copy in video and i clicked save as avi...

AT AROUND 87% THIS MESSAGE CAME UP

An out-of-bounds memory access (access violation) occurred in module 'l3codecp'...
...while compressing audio using "Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer-3 codec (professional)" (Audio.cpp:1713)...
    ...while running thread "Dub-I/O" (thread.cpp:120).

I dunno y this came up and Vdub crashed. So then i got Vdub mp3 freeze and i loaded the wav. and i converted it to mp3 64kb 22050 but the sound is all out os SYNC grrrrr.....

  2. alright....

well.... i can possibly say something about the codec that you're using..... its a hacked codec.... meaning it wasn't supposed to be free.... i use it too.... but sometimes it crashes.... i think you may be having an issue with that codec on your system..... just to check....

  3. All Windows versions since 98 came with a version of Fraunhofer's L3enc that's limited to 64Kb/s so it's not necessarily a cracked codec you're using.

Either way, might I suggest using LAME instead for mp3 encoding?

  4. I will try your suggestions and hopefully it will work. But if it doesnt should i reinstall the codecs or anything like that. I dont wanna mess up the codec configuration because everything plays on my computer right now....

  5. Reinstalling codecs is always a good idea, though if that doesn't fix it there could be something more sinister going on

It's probably best to start with the things that are having trouble, namely vdub and whatever mp3 codec you choose to use
