TEAC DV-W50D and firmware

I've heard that the TEAC DV-W50D is a relabeled Pioneer DVR-A06 inside, which would have a 1.07 firmware on the Pioneer homepage.

DVDInfo says about my drive it has 1.05 firmware, and the TEAC homepage has no newer one

1. Does that mean its not the newest firmware available?
2. Can I safely use the Pioneer firmware? Anyone ever done that?
3. If possible, what would I gain?

teac has released 1.06 firmware version...
