  1. I am splitting DVD9 to two DVD5 using DVDFab 0.17.0 and am seeing a persistent problem. During setup the CGP file choice dropdown box is empty, files cannot be entered here either. Towards the end of the split process I get a "cannot open file" error and everything stops. If I burn the contents of the split directories the DVDs play but there is no change graphic and the chapter/high speed navigation of the disks is screwed.

The DVDFab.ini file shows a line "Changegraphic= ", I have tried entering the default CGP filename here and also the full path to the file, no joy. I've downloaded and installed extra .CGPs into the CGP dir, no joy. I've reinstalled DVDfab downloaded from a different source, same problem.

I'm running WinXP pro sp1 on a twin 2.6GHz Pentium.

Has anyone else seen, or more importantly, cured this problem?

  2. shouldn't be a problem...it's worked for me many times in the past.

    www.dvdfab.com

See CGP_index.jpg screenshots for which CGP corresponds.
Each CGP has four video stills
    - Insert Disk 1
    - Insert Disk 2
    - Insert Disk 3
    - The End

Unzip all files into C:\Program Files\DVDFab\CGP
to enable the selection of CGP (Change Graphic Picture)

Are you sure you have all the .cgp in C:\Program Files\DVDFab\CGP ?

  3. Yes, all of the CGPs were in the dvdfab\CGP dir.

Anyway, I located a copy of DVDFab v 0.17.1 and installing this cured the problem. As far as I can see it looks as though a duplicate copy of DVDFab.exe was being installed into my profiles dir and this was being referenced by the shortcut/start menu, as the CGP dir was in my DVDFab dir, I got the "cannot open file error".

I must have been through about a dozen un/re-installs of 0.17.0, with files downloaded from four different sources, I got the same problem each time. The 0.17.1 installation worked first time.

The 0.17.1 instal process looked indentical to the 0.17.0 one, the only thing I can think of is that I've changed something in my XP setup as I've been stamping around in there trying to get things to work.

Anyway it's working now and the results are great!
