I have created my first DVD successfully, thanks to the help of everyone on this site! My problem is that the DVD plays back perfectly on my new Panasonic player, but not on an older (2 years) Sony player. At the same point in the DVD, the Sony suddenly causes blank screen gaps of about 1 second for every 3-4 seconds of video. This continues for the remainder of that chapter, then it is fine again. Then at another spot about 30 minutes later in the video, it hangs at one frame and will not resume play, skip to the next chapter, etc ... again, it works fine on the Panasonic.

Should I just assume this is a quirk of the older Sony DVD player that can't be resolved, or is there something that I might be doing wrong when creating the DVD? I get the same result on either DVD+RW or DVD-R disks.

I am using ADVC-100 to capture to Ulead VS7, TMPEGEnc to render to MPG, then UVS7 to author.

I think I see. You may be right about the authoring process. There is a certain guide for making more compatible DVDs (UDF 1.0 version or something like that). I will look around for it.
    Hello.
