After I create the d2V & AC3xxx.wav files, with DVD2AVI, I then use TempGenc to encode. However, when using DVD2AVI, I set the video to "Force Film" as that is what is required. Do I need to set the Advanced Tab to 3:2 pulldown since DVD2AVI indicates 23.977 frame rate at better than 95%?
The tutorials I have read make no mention of this. I get good results, but sometimes a little jerky especially Cinemascope.
Tutorials imply no need for 3:2 pulldown. Please clarify.

You should never need to use the 3:2 pulldown filter on the advanced tab. This is for hard converting 23.976fps material to 29.97fps.
You MUST enable the 3:2 pulldown while playback option on the VIDEO tab under encode mode anytime you encode to mpeg2 at 23.976fps. Mpeg1 does not support 3:2 pulldown flags but can still be encoded at 23.976fps for VCDs. For DVD encoding, if you use mpeg1 it must be at 29.97fps.
If you encode correctly then you should absolutely never get jerky results from a DVD source unless its something like anime. -
why not encode 4 (6?) x 5 minutes sections using all the different possibilitys and decide for yourself which is better. SOme will not work at all, but this way you know the right answer.
