    Greetings,

I bought that program to NOT USE it at all. I prefer by far using the combo of these free softwares: DVD Shrink, IMGTools and DVD Decrypter.

    - Their software does not give the control over DVD edition DVD shrink does.
    - It is buggy.
    - It is unstable.
    - It broke many DVD+R while I never missed any burns with DVD Decrypter.
-It put an ID on all your DVDs, so they are tagged to you. I am doing nothing illegal (except backup my DVDs, that I bought and still own), and I have a small problem with a software marking my things for me.
-It has an anoying message saying this is a DVD backup bla bla bla.

    Thank you

I used a trial version of DVDXCopy Platinum. It was able to back up a DVD that, for some reason, I couldn't back up with DVD Shrink. DVD Shrink would get to about 92% and then give me an error and shut down.

However I wouldn't recommend buying DVDXCopy Platinum. You can do the same thing with DVD Shrink for free, i.e, compress a DVD 9 to a DVD 5. Plus DVDXCopy doesn't give you the option of omitting subtitles, extra audio tracks, or re-authoring the DVD to omit extra features you don't want.

    Greetings,

Regarding your problems with DVD Shrink:
I have that problem sometimes. The solution is simple: Rip the DVD to a folder with DVD Decrypter (or your favorite ripper), then make DVD Shrink point to the directory. It worked all the times.

    Thank you

  6. There's even a simpler way to back-up your movies folks: the combination of DVD Shrink & CloneDVD are excellent. You can RIP your movie Shrink and select what part of the movie to keep with Clone (Menus, extras, etc.) It is so simple it's ridiculous!

I just recently started using Instant copy for the first time. I'm very impressed with the latest version of it. It does pretty much everything Xcopy does except for disc splitting, which I rarely would use anyway.
