Hi all,
After recovering from the disappointment my Pioneer 626 couldn't play SVCD I'm now trying to author a xvcd. My question is on screen-size and bitrate. I've succesfully authored a xvcd with some clips with 720 by 480 screensize and a 2200 kb/s bitrate. This was however a bit to much for the pioneer: the sound couldn't keep up. I'm trying to author some clips with lower bitrates and lower resolutions but somehow the pioneer only seems satisfied with a 720x480 screensize! Any other (PAL) sizes are not accepted! Strange...
Tools used tmpgenc and nero 5.5. Could any fellow 626-owners come forward and share their optimum xvcd settings for this player?
Thanx, Hans

I have no answer to your question, í'm just starting with simple vcds, but i have the same model as you and the menus and stills doesn´t work recording with nero 5.5.5.1 . I am using CDRW , using cdi application and without using it. Could you tell me the settings you use to make your vcds with menus and stills? When i insert the cd, in the screen appears Play PBC and nothing happens. I press stop, play...
It only showss the movie when i press the number 1.
Thanks.
