    I am having a problem with my system recognizing the above mentioned camcorder. I have a Firewire card in my system (the system recognizes this). The camcorder has the DV i.link included. I am using Ulead Video studio to try to do this. I have been told to use the Microsoft drivers but noticed on here that it is suggested I use the TI drivers. I've tried both to no avail. When I check my devices after connecting my camera to the Firewire card and powering the camera on, nothing changes. I was told that an entry would come up stating something to the effect that I have a DV camera connected.

    Can anyone help me here? I am at the end of my rope.

    Thanks....

  2. If you are running windows 2000 nothing happens on Device Manager (I heven't seen anything on mine), if you are running Windows Me it will show up on device manager and also if you double click on My Computer you will see an extra icon after Control Panel.

    Anyway you can the following:
    Turn it on
    Open the capture program
    Select your "Direct show capture plug in" or plain Capture plug in, to be Microsoft DV something
    Select your Device Control, to be MS 1394

    That should make it. I hope :-}

    I meant to put all this on my first post.

    700 mhz
    128 sdram
    Windows98/SE
    Internal 10GB Hard drive
    External 40GB Hard Drive

    When I select the capture plug-in, I don't see Microsoft DV or anything of the sort. The camera recognizes that I have the cable connected, but the computer seems not to.

    Thanks for the prompt reply.
