Anybody used one of these soundcards with "Digital Wire" technology for real-time AC-3 capture? Or any other card at $150.00 or less?
SFAIK, the card must be "bit-accurate" and with SPDIF input, of course. Have seen several reports of successful AC-3 caps, including a few with reasonably-priced cards, but no in-depth info.
Am seeking any information on this, techniques, software, etc, but most especially successes or failures with particular boards. Just popped my Phillips PSC706 and got a few bucks in the budget.

Well, I'll answer my own question. The M-Audio Revoultion 24/96 at $199.95 and the Audiotrak Prodigy 7.1 at $149.95 are apparently capable of this, as well as the Audigy2 with 3rd party drivers. At least one person who seemed to know what he was talking about reported success with onboard C-Media audio. But no specifics as to make or model of motherboard.
For those still curious, the goal is to capture a DVD-ready burnable file from Digital Cable complete with AC-3 audio in full 5.1 surround, where available.
Any additional input welcome.
