hi ive searched the site using the words dvd-r to dvd+r but without any results. is it ok to rip a dvd-r using dvd decryptor then buring it straight to dvd+r? i just ask because my burner only burns dvd+r discs but the disc i want to back up is dvd-r.

you do not need to rip anything. your disc is not encrypted. drag everything off the dvd-r onto your hdd and burn them. or do a direct copy if you have a dvd-rom too. -

Direct copy it. I do that when I 'give' the kids a DVD to watch. I'm bending the 1 backup rule, but an 8 year old can trash a disk in about 15 seconds. Trashed disk come out of the kdis allowance (big deal $1.50 and anothrr 1/2 hour to make a new backup, but it's only 14 minutes to copy the existing one), but the whining until I make a new one is the killer.
The kids typically watch the same 5-6 DVD's over and over.To Be, Or, Not To Be, That, Is The Gazorgan Plan
