    I not sure which forum to post this in so I ended up here. Is it possible to edit the datastream from a dvd to remove or substitute region coding when making backups for personal use?

    I dunno about subsitute but I think most ripping software removes the region code anyway..If not..then i do believe dvd decrypter contaisn a region code tool....its a matter of changing some info in the video_ts and vts files

    Hi,

    DVDShrink will do the trick. It will either make the resulting DVD region-free or allow you to set the region(s).
