  1. Has anybody played karaoke on Koss KS3123-2 (bought it at Costco Toronto)? I got a music and song lyrics displayed on TV, but there is no voice coming out of speakers (microphone is Ok, of course). I couldn't find anything in user manual, except just to plug in a micophone(s). Please helppp...

  2. I have a question for you and hopefully an answer to your question. You say that you have music and song lyrics on this player. What kind of disc are you using? My CD+G Karaoke discs won't play at all which makes me think this unit was designed for DVD-Karaoke, which is fine since I spent all last night converting my discs to DVD.

To answer your question, you have to be using the analog outputs (Red and white RCA connectors) to get the Mic sound mixed in. The manual doesn't state this but it's a simple matter that the player can't mix in the analog signal if you are using the digital (optical or coaxial) out. Hope this helps.

  3. Thanks for your reply. To answer your question I was using karaoke VCD.
Yes, I figured out that I have to use analog signal, but the mixing was poor. What I mean with that is that music was dominant, and also I had to hold a microphone so close to my mouth (actually touching it) to hear any voice coming from the speakers, so I decided to return the unit.

  4. I found that too... I've been thinking of remixing my karaoke DVD to lower the music volume... that might help. This DVD player is the only one I've found that does "everything else" so I'm not going to be returning it. The karaoke function was a bonus. Maybe I'll crack the unit open and see if something can be done to amplify the mic volume.

  5. I purchased the Koss KS3123-2 as a Christmas gift at Costco, but haven't been able to find any reviews on it. Mostly, I'm guessing, because it's a Canadian model.

How would you rate this DVD player?

I can't afford a several hundred dollar DVD player, but I also don't want to give something that is crappy.

    Thanks
