Hi, I just bought a 25 pack of 4x memorex DVD+R's. I was trying to copy one of my DVD's with Clone DVD along with AnyDVD. I first tried to burn the movie onto a memorex DVD+RW and it worked. Then I tried to burn the movie onto my brand new 4x DVD+R's. My dvd+RW drive is an NEC ND-1100a drive. When it said burning complete on my DVD+R, i took it out and tried to play it on my computer. Nothing happened. I went to my computer and clicked on the drive with the DVD in it and my computer froze until i took the DVD out. I thought it was a problem w/ the DVD so i burned another one and the same thing happened. Can somebody please help because i am really mad b/c these DVD's are brand new and they should be working!

If you took it out and tried to play it in another drive, such as a DVD-ROM, it is possible that the DVD-ROM drive will not recognize DVD +R media. Many do not.

So why did you not try to play it in your burner? Your burner should be able to play it if it burned it successfully.

  3. Ok, people are going to need some more information to help you diagnose the issue.

    1. On the "burned" DVD, on the burn side does it show that it has been burned? Basically, did you have it in test mode.
    2. What OS are you using
    3. Have you tried other software burning apps like nero, or dvddecrypter. What happened when you tried that

Maybe it has something to do with the media since I worked on the RW. The dvd player froze when you tried it, was it the dvd-rw drive or another drive?

It looks like the DVD has been burned but when i try to use another program or try to burn the disc again it says that there is no disc in the DVD+RW drive. I am using XP home

  6. Try burning some DATA to the DVD, see if it will at least burn data. I have the same burner as you, and I have had no issues burning at 4X using the same media. Im using NERO t burn and Smartripper to rip. Maybe give that combo a shot and see if that works for you.......I personally have never used Clone DVD....Hope it works out for you!!!!!
Ever get that feeling you are being watched??

Hmm, well people are trying to help you. There mere fact that you dont know how to burn data indicates that u are kinda inexperienced and probably burnt your movie wrong. Try erasing the the rw and reburn it.

alright i burnt the 2fast2furious to DVD+RW and it was flawless but when i tried to burn 2fast2furious to DVD+R it didnt work at all. I did the same exact thing that i did with the DVD+RW. I used elby clonedvd with anydvd. Do i need a firmware update or something for my nec nd-1100a drive?

Entirely possible that you DO need a firmware update.

OK I figured out how to burn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But let me tell you how I did it because it takes a while. So I burned 2fast2furious onto a DVD+RW and it worked with elby clone dvd and anydvd. Then I tried to burn 2fast2furious using clone dvd and anydvd onto a brand new 4x memorex DVD+R on my NEC nd-1100a drive. It didnt work so I thought that maybe my drive doesnt support 4x because it never worked. But then I had an idea. I took the burned DVD+RW disc and copied it to my DVD+R using nero, burning at 2.4x. And it was flawless it worked perfectly. So now i can burn my 4x DVD+R at 2.4x but how do I burn at 4x without the disc not working? Is there an easier way to do this. I wanted to know if maybe clone dvd is automatically set to maximum speed so how do i change the speed to 2.4x so I could just do a 1:1 copy instead of copying to a DVD+RW and then copying the DVD+RW to a DVD+R.

hey man, i am having the exact same problem you have. here is my post:

    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=182284

i am using memorex dvd+rw and memorex 4x dvd+r. when i burn the +rw, it works fine, but no matter what i do, i cant get it to work on a +r. sometimes it will play in my standalone, but only for a couple seconds, then it gets ejected. and in my computer, it locks up when i try to read it.

  16. There is an option in Clone DVD to alter the write speed in the output method which is the last screen above your chosen writer

What is the maximum writing speed for DVD+R's on my NEC nd-1100a DVD+RW drive.

  18. If your writer has a maximum write speed of 4x it does not mean that you can write all DVD+R media at this speed, you are limited to the write speed of the discs you are using ie: 1x, 2x, or 4x.
