This is the new Tandy / Radio Shack 10 inch flat screen DVD / TV
player that was released in October 2003.

I played with one of these today.

This is the flat screen (not clamshell) dvd/audio cd/mp3 player with
tv tuner built-in. I have included a link below to show you the exact
model.

I tried to play a correctly burned VCD and SVCD disc, but it came up
with an "unrecognized disc" error.

I put in a CD-R with MP3 files. The player was briefly confused and
flashed "VCD 1.1" on the screen before correcting itself and putting
up the menu to play the MP3's.

The back label is marked "Axion" and "Action Electronics" in Taiwan

Does anyone know a hack code or sequence of button pushes on the
remote to unlock the VCD and SVCD play capabilities?
