  1. The film came in both sides of the disk. I would like to join this masterpiece using variable bit rate and burn using nero to one 4.7 gb disk.
I used decrypter, tmpgenc dvd author and joined them. Dvd2one refused to process after 20 secs. Any ideas?

I thought decrypter also did shrink. Anyway, decrypt, dvd shrink it and the dvd author. Or decrypt, dvd author and then dvd shrink it

to do this properly ,you have to rip each side to a seperate directory ..

then on side two - rename the VOB's continuing form the last VOB on side one (say if side 1 ends with VOB 8 , start side 2 with VOB 9 and so forth ..)

then put all VOB's in to a single directory ...

you will need to use ifoedit and rebuild this VIDEO_TS folder on your hard dive as a new (large) dvd temp directory ... (instructions to do this on the left -- pretty simple) ..test play it with powerdvd or windvd and make sure it all works ..

then use your shrink program and shrink it down to dvd5 size (like 50% compression prob.)

    and go from there ....

  4. I just did the Good Fellas last weekend.
I don't remember if I used DVD2one or DVD Shrink but had no probs.
That flipper has 3.something GB on each side (main movies).
I didnt care about menu (its only scene selection and languages) and the main movie starts anyways...

I just backed up this DVD last week as well. I can honestly say this is the worst commercial DVD I have ever seen, and its a shame since the movie is so great. The video quality is atrocious and I have never seen more boring menu's...their main focal point is the flippin' WB label. The menu's were obviously made with a template and have no originality at all.

Unlike Tompika, I do care about menu's, so I made my own using footage taken from the movie and it looks much better in my opinion.
