AMD Athlon XP 2200+ 512mb DDR 64mb Video
Liteon LDW-401S Burner.
Have had this system for about 6 weeks and everything has been running pretty good. I had been using Maxell disks (4x) from Wal-Mart. Was at Sams and had gotten some Verbatim disks (2.4x). I used 3 disks from the pack and was getting error messages on all of them. I have been using NeoDVD4. Well, I thought maybe there was a problem with drivers or something so after doing some reading I download and install the latest ASPI drivers. That was mistake# 1. After that my system would recognize the dvd-rw as being a cd drive, but not as a dvd burner. Then I try re-installing my software for NeoDVD, AnyDVD, and CloneDVD. Still nothing. I have tried unistalling the ASPI drivers, but it still is not working. What do I need to do to get this back up and running?? I checked with a friend of mine who has the same setup as I do and we looked at his drivers and some of them say AnyDVD, Slysoft, and Elbysoft on some of them. His system is working fine. How can I get mine back?? Please help!!!

If your running XP, then do a system restore.
There are 4 different drivers you can use (types, not vendors). Fire up DVDDecryptor to see them displayed. It smells like you need WINASPI drivers installed. Over in the tools section is a link to the Adaptec ASPI drivers. You said you got the latest drivers, from where? Made by who?To Be, Or, Not To Be, That, Is The Gazorgan Plan -
I downloaded the Adaptec ASPI drivers and installed them, but still had the same problems. Then I downloaded the ForceASPI drivers, but again still had the same problems. I tried using the system restore, but there was no restore point beyond when I started having problems.
Thanks,
