I think it is and pricing should be left to the free market instead of the rediculous licensing fees for consumers. When hardware is released the price is set by supply and demand. The longer hardware has been on the market the cheaper it usually is,I think the same should apply to software.

I voted "yes," but my answer is more in the middle. I don't understand the software industry enough to form a solid opinion.

I think it is overpriced and probably fixed.
If you check out the Norton/Symantec site and compare the prices at the US shop and the UK shop, you'll see that some products are nearly the same in $ as they are in £ despite the £ being worth about 1.69 $.

Buying in the UK, Antivirus 2004 costs the equivalent of $76 and Internet Security costs the equivalent of $93.
Has anyone ever wondered how they come to get the price to be somthing and 95/99 cents or pence? What's wrong with the real price, not the rounded-up price?Regards,

My guess is this is just marketing...so they can say that the price is less than $50 when the MSRP is $49.95. Then again, I'm an engineer - so take my marketing insight with a grain of saltOriginally Posted by rhegedus
