  1. Hello,

Every time I proceed to burn a CD or DVD, my computer attempts to dial my internet service provider.

I have to wait for the dialing attempt, and then failure to connect (I don't have my password stored) before the media is burned.

This has happened when I used Nero and Veritas RecordNow Max, so I do not believe it is burning software dependent.

When I use Instant Copy 7, and hit Start (after selecting my DVD files on my hard drive post-DVD Decrypter and my SONY DRU500A as destination), the same thing happens.

I thought it might be trying to dial the CDDB database, but I disabled that option in the above software.

I have also tried using AdAware6 and Spybot Search & Destroy to determine if spyware is the culprit - it doesn't appear to be so.

A google search, and forum search didn't help.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

    eeek...that's scary.

What about a full virus scan. Never know...I've heard of trojans that will do that. No ideer why it'd wait until yer burning a DVD tho.

Do you have any type of download manager or internet accelerator installed? If you have a download manager...it might interpret sumthin yer burning software is doing as *a request to download*. Since download managers usually have a *reconnect* function, it may be trying to reconnect.

Have u checked for updates on your DVD/CD burning firmware. It may be trying to update before burning.

Just brainstorming a bit. If u figger this one out....please let us know.

ps....save yer password in the internet connection wizard and let it connect. See where it takes u. =)
