My TRV-900 camcorder does not function as a pass-through.
Everything has to be recorded on a mini-DV tape before going to iMovie2.
I am also limited to 1 hour recordings with this setup and my camcorder wears and tears in the meantime.
I am considering buying Datavideo's DAC-100 to convert analog to DV and importing to imovie. Any one has experience and recommends the DAC-100?
Thanks,![]()

I have a friend who has a Mac and a DAC-100 and LOVES it. I don't know specifically what type of MAC he has but it says it worked flawlessly from the beginning. the people at his local MAC store recommend it to everyone by default and they have rarely gotten a complaint.

Yeah, him(her?) and me have that lousy HOLLYWOOD BRIDGE
and we wish we'd been able to buy the DAC instead
This device is only rivalled by much more expensive ANOLOG to DIGITAL
boxes..Good Choice -

I was talking about GCUTLER (him, her)
..who has the same device as me..the chaper HOLLYWOD brige which works ok, but 1 in 50 passes..you have to do it again..no such problems with the DAC
and my buddy uses DAC 100 his with a VHS and a BETACAM SP analog deck..transfers to DV without a flaw....
and thanks for the private message
