Anybody know what current writers will work on NT4? Gee I never see it listed anymore in the OS specs for the new writers. Win 2000 for sure. But it's an NT based OS anyway. Got this huge investment in hardware and software running like a dream on NT and I don't want to risk messing it up by changing to a new OS just to get a DVD writer in the system.

I've tried it before with baaaaad results. I'm sure you all know the unresolveable software, hardware conflicts that can result when you introduce something new into a system.

Only other alternative would be to build a new system for the writer. Kinda spendy though.

    Looking forward to positive replies

I think what you should be looking is for a burning application compatible with NT 4.0

I just remembered that Nero 5.5 was certified to run under Windows NT4.0 (Service Pack 3 or later), but this was a long time ago.

You will also need a drive using IDE or SCSI interfaces that is compatible with Nero 5.5. If you pick up a drive with SCSI interface you will need an SCSI card in your system.

There are some burners with Nero bundled in. I now that HP DVD200i and Ricoh MP5125A are compatible.

Finally you will need Adaptec ASPI drivers. You can get them here http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/driverdetail.html?sess=no&language=English+US...aspi_471a2.exe

Of course, all of this is in theory, so you will have to perform your own testing.
