  1. I am trying to convert an AVI file to dvd. I extracted the audio with virtualdub. I saved it as a wav file. Then I added the video and the wav file into TMPGEnc. I tried using the wizard for doing this. I watched the final result, and everything looked ok. Then about 3/4 through the movie the audio doesn't sync anymore with the video. Any ideas why? In the original avi its fine. Thanks.

  3. I scanned it with it and it said that all frames appear to be ok.

When I opened the avi file in VirtualDub originally I got the VBR audio stream detected box. And when I extracted to wav I did full processing mode. Is that right?

Not unless you use VDub-MP3. I prefer Goldwave for creating wav files, it handles most types of audio. Just load your avi in Goldwave and save.

  5. But I should be doing full processing mode for audio right? And the high quality tab in the conversion box?

Full processing...yes. High quality...? I don't know, I've never used it.

  7. I just encoded the video again, and extracted the audio with the mp3 software you gave me. But when I load both files into my Ulead DVD software and preview both together, the audio doesn't go in sync with the video. Any ideas?

Try extracting the audio with Virtualdub-MP3 mod. It's in the Tools section and works like regular Vdub.

  9. Now I have yet another problem. TMPGEnc is saying the movie is about 231 minutes when the movie is really only about an hour and a half. So when I go through the wizard it says the file is going to be like 7gb. Is there a fix for this? I only have the vbr at 4000.

The situation you describe is a classic VBR problem. You extracted the audio to wav and you're using the wav file as the audio source, correct?
