  1. Ok... I have a foreign dvdr that I aquired recently that had no audio track for one reason or another. The audio wouldn't play on my standalone dvdplayer but would on my computers. I somehow fixed that problem (don't ask how... cause I really don't know how) but now I need to reapply the subtitles and have been having a hell of a time.

Does anybody know of a sure fire way to rip subs from a dvd and then reauthor the disc with the subs just on a mac?

Sizzle has been authoring part of the disc and then quitting. I have no idea why.

  3. AFAIK ffmpegX is the only tool for the Mac that has limited subtitle ripping support.

This might be improved in the future, see the thread at:

  4. You also could download those subs from websites and then reauthor it with dvdsp, i use Extractor to rip the audio and video stream.

And i use Titlelab to save it as a dvdsp file to import into dvdsp, when you are using dvdsp 2 be shure to open the freshly made subfile with titlelab and put the next on top:
$FontName = Comic Sans Ms ( or other font )
    $FontSize = 26 ( or whatever size you want to use )
    $HorzAlign = Center ( or Left or Right )
$VOffset = -20 ( Can also be 20 or whatever value you want to use)

Replace space between the timeline by a comma
    and replace

by a | than save it and you can import it.
