I have recently purchased a couple of DVD's That have a resolution of 720 X 576 NTSC ( Simpsons season 3 and The Hulk ) . I thought this was a PAL resolution . All the discs I have and have checked are 720 X 480 NTSC . Does anybody know whats going on ?

Maybe it was a packaging error - you ended up with a PAL disc in an NTSC case. I've bought a couple of DVDs that when I got home and opened them there was no DVD in the case. And with (was it) Star Wars Episode II a lot of the packages were mislabeled, and people who thought they were buying the wide-screen version got the full-screen disc in the wide-screen package. Maybe that's what happened to you - incorrect packaging...
