  1. Hello All,
Im Totally New here to the DVD R Scene (I dont even have a DVD Burner Yet), Bu im deciding to get a DVD Burner. But first i have a couple of questions and id greatly appreaciate it if anyone can help me out:

    1. Which Drive should i get? The LG 4040b or the Sony DR 510ULX? Which one is best for Ripping and Burning?
    2. Which Companys DVD media should i use for it (Sony, Imation, TDK, Verbatim, Memorex or other)?
    3. If I burn a Movie DVD, will it play on a version 1 PS2 with the magic 3 mod in it?
    4. Is it possible to convert a heavily Compressed DIVX movie into DVD so that it can play on the above said player?
    5. Which of the Formats should i more commonly use to get the results i desire (+R +RW -R -RW)?
    6. Are there any Region Code issues or anti Copy problems that i should be aware of when ripping?

Thats about it i guess. Ill greatly Appreaciate any help in this matter
    Thanks.

Yep. Every question you've asked can be found in Guides and or many prior posts. Some of your questions rely on opinions and you could get good, bad and very ugly.

Asking for answers to your list of questions is like asking someone to write out this whole site for you. :c)

Best to get cosy, take a deep breath then read, read & read some more.

If you see new terms, there's a good Glossary in the blue section.

When you go to actually try some of what you've learned, post back with a specific individual question (make your subject title reflect the question) and many will probably help.
