  1. My small test of WINDVR v1.0.B061.01C00
    downloaded 3/07/2001 from http://www.intervideo.com
    Very BIG bug is
--mpeg2 PAL recorded with wrong (NTSC) framerate 29,97 instead 25fps(PAL).
--in preference impossible to set sampling frequence 48Khz (when PCI sound card support 48Khz)This need for DVD authoring. Impossible export recorded mpeg into SpruceUp.
--impossible choose 720x576 and 352x576 for video capture. Only 352x288, 720x240,640x240,320x240,176x144,160x120,80x60
--From version 1.0B034 disabled support USB/DV devices for DVR
    --No playlist in player mode.

    Tested video 352x288 sound 224Kbps
*good, better and best* modes with CPU usage avg 70-80%

    *customized* mode:
    video 352x288 4000Kbps GOP 12/2 IBPBPBPBPBPB....
    Motion Vector horiz-8, vertical-8 (by default 4)
    sound 224Kbps 44Khz
    CPU usage 85-90%

Quality good, but a lot bugs...very beta
ATI MMC 6.3 under win98 better (used GoMotion codec from Ligos) Recorded mpeg2 files possible export to SpruceUp and make dvd very quick (menu, navigation, links and burn).
But under w2k i have no choice except WinDVR or WinCoder.
Captured mpeg2 non dvd compliant (see above).
Imho,WinDVR very promised product. May be only Ravisent can
    compete with Intervideo.

also, the mpg file you grab with d-box 1, you can encode it to xvcd and play it through nokia!
    D-box 1 is an excelent (x)vcd player!

  4. even in win2k, shouldn't you be able to use ATI MMC7.1? if 6.3 works, 7.1 should, since the AiW Pro uses the same capture chip the original AiW 128 PCI used (bt829), and 7.1 is designed for use with win2k. make sure you add the 4.1 dvd update, it fixes capture bugs in MMC 7.1.

you can download them from support.ati.com
