Hi,
This is my first post of hopefully many so here goes :
I would like to know if it is normal that the encoding process on my workstation takes over 2.5 hrs using dvd shrink?
Here is my configuration
AMD Duron 800MHZ
1GB RAM
LG 4040B DVD-R
Maxtor 40GB HDD 7200RPM
I normally edit my DVD's to remove unwanted material and then I press the backup! button. From there it takes approx 2.5hrs per disc and that is without doing the deep analysis. I've tried several discs and I get the same result everytime.
thanks
/Carl

Depends on the version you are using. Trying dl the newest version 3.0 beta 5. It looks like you need a cpu upgrade. Duron 800mhz for 2.5 hrs. That sounds about right. Cpu is extremely cheap these days just go upgrade and you will be fine.

Are you sure you don't have the box checked for deep analysis when encoding? I have a 866mhz PIII and it can sometimes take up to 90min without deep analysis, and an additional 50-60min with deep analysis. This would match your times, if only you had the deep analysis box checked.
