Hi, after converting an avi file to mpg in TMPGenc Plus, using the wizard, and the then using TMPGenc Author to convert to dvd files, I get the error message about the GOP being to long.
What is GOP, and how do I keep it to what TMPGenc Author wants?
Thanks

The GOP stands for Group Of Pictures. A compliant DVD file must contain a certain combination of I, P, and B frames.
From what I've seen, TMPGEnc DVD Author expects the GOP to be no more than 16 frames (pictures?) long.
In TMPGEnc Plus (the encoder), if you use the wizard, you will come to a screen called "Filter Setting".
If you select the "Other Settings" button, you will come to the "MPEG Setting" window. The "GOP Structure" tab will show how the GOP is currently configured.
I have used the settings shown and have had not problems with authoring in TMPGEnc DVD Author.
Also, be sure to select "Closed GOP".
Hope this helps. And to those of Greater Wisdom: if I have misstated anything, please correct.
[Yay, I got my images to post!]
