I can get the Pioneer DVR-106 and Sony DRU 510A dvd-writer for about the same price. Which one should I take. I'm thinking more towards the pioneer. The only reason I consider the Sony is because it can burn DVD+RW at 4X, unlike the pioneer 2.4X. Is this true?
Any other reason I should consider one above the other?

I suggest that you take a look at http://www20.tomshardware.com/storage/20031027/index.html which is a survey of 11 of the current burners with some very stringent tests. Of the Sony and the Pioneer the Pioneer cane out best. Anyway have a look fot yourself.
