When I play DVDs on my PS2 through a video player, with a normal scart lead, the picture is messed up because of protection against copying. If I get a Blaze Ultimate scart lead (I think that's what is called) will I be able to play DVDs through a video player without a bad picture?

well if you are gonna pay close to $100 for a scart card? why bother you can buy stand - a - alone DVD players now for under $100 that not only play your DVD's but also VCD, SVCD and MP3 which your PS2 can not, plus some can be hacked to disengage the macrovison.
APEX 660 - $99, Sam's Club - simple CD-R program will flash the Rom so to disengage the macrovision. -
thxkid,
stop saying "disengage".. you're not on star trek.. and i'm getting pretty damn tired of all these nerds talking about this new "enterprise" horseshit. i mean, i dont hate star trek, but people should talk about it less.
i've seen a few old star trek episodes and i saw that movie "trekkies".. so, "i know what i'm talking about".. hehe
anyways. apex dvd plays suck picture quality-wise.. they can play anything except vinyl & you can hack the fock out of them.. but the bad picture quality will always haunt you
