dvd-r compatabilty question

hi guys just wondering if you could help
i am having a slight problem with playing back ups on my dvd player
my problem is this
when i have backed up my dvd and go to burn it (im using dvd shrink and nero 5.5.10.0) using the dvd-video setting it burns fine with no errors
and when i go to play it nothing but it works on my mates player but if i do it on the dvd-rom(iso) setting it still burns fine with no errors and will play fine on my player but will not play on my mates (maybe this is common but very strange) so my question is there any way i can burn so that the same disk will play on mine and my mates player without having to use 2 disks for the same film
sorry the question is so long winded
but didnt know how else to put it

First of all update your Nero to 5.5.10.54


If the DVD-Video doesn't work...

...then use DVD-ROM (UDF/ISO)
http://dvdshrink.info/nero-udf-iso.php



DVD-ROM (UDF) will likely have compatibility problems.
