Just out of curiosity, is there an advantage to using the earlier version for encoding? Just wondering as this is the version suggested by mizah in his menus tutorials. (Plus the Quicktime encoding plugin - QTReader.vfp - doesn't work for me in the earlier version. It does with 2.0.) Thanks.

I tested all, and my conclusions are:
Beta 12: Small files, smoothness
Beta 12H: Faster, with Sharpness, and great colours
Blocks are the same on those 2 versions.
Between 12 - 12H, quality is not that good. With versions 12i, 12j and 2.0, my templates give bad results. But 12J and 2.0 are faster -
This is an interesting subject. Maybe some TMPEnc expert can clarify which version has best quality, which is fastest etc?

I'm more concerned with quality than speed. I know this much:
TMPGEnc in either version is better than letting Nero do it or using AVI2VCD.
I encoded some clips last night using 2.0 and am happy with the results.
