I have a dvd that i want to backup because it is scratched. DvdDecrypter wont read past the scratch...I have done all the polishing I can possibly do to the disc itself...are there any settings that I can use with smartripper, anydvd or dvddecrypter that will help????
Please I love this movie! (i lent it out and some a$$hole scratched the f@ck out of it!)

If none of those un approved methods work
rent another....or
failing this..if its a back up already thats scratched do this...
use a EDITOR like Womble MPEG2VCR and load the VOB in question
Mark out just before the scratch....save to hard drive...
Mark in after scratch and save till the end of the file ...
USE resultant files... Now you can rejoin the two havlves, minus the bad part.
ADD this back to the still copy--able part of the disc -
I have had this exact problem before myself.
More than once I was able to keep hitting ignore errors. You should be able to see progress at the the amount read in by DVDdecryptor. If you keep hitting ignore enough times, it will prompt you if you want to ignore all errors. Say yes and let it work for 15-20 minutes. If it does not keep progrssing you may be hosed.
I saw this posted and have not needed to try it
"If you encounter an error while ripping with DVDDecrypter go to Tools->Settings->Device tab and check(tick) Fast Error Skip, then go to I/O tab and check Ignore Read Errors.
4.If DVDDecrypter doesn't work then try SmartRipper or vice-versa. "
I would not mind seeing the like for the babe as well -
Yeah, I couldnt get past the scratch at all so I have to go rent another copy to backup my original
