Wow thats a really good price. I got a Lexar 128 flash drive for 29.99 but its just a drive. That thing does it all.
Dark booty out. -
Seems awful cheap for 128mb, I'd be susppicous. I paid $125 for a 512MB recently, but prices are comming down fast.
-
I'm leery of buying anything from ebay:"you never know what you're gonna get".

I was going to buy this based on what you guys said, but then thought that a palm would be more useful for me. I still want the mp3 player capability that stores at least an hour or so of music but it should also let me do some simple word processing and other basic stuff...how much memory should I look for?
-
Is there a problem with you player the music on your palm/ winCE device? You know that most of the new ones will play mp3 and other formats right? If you can, get a hand held that has a CF+ (CF type 2) or PCMCIA type 2 slot. Then you can get a small hard drive for your music. 1GB for CF+ and 5 or more GB for pcmcia, You can also get 1GB or more CF flash memory now.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they? -
So should I invest in a cheap one and upgrade the memory? If so, how much would it cost to upgrade from say 8-32 to 128 MB?
-
The really cheap ones do not play mp3, but most of the mid range will now. Just need to check the features and wait for a sale. Most of the middle models will only have onboard storage of 8-32MB, but almost all of them take one form of card or another. Some will take several different types of memory card. And the really good ones will playback mpeg4 videos. I can't really recommend a model because I don't konw all the models, but I do know that most of the newer middle and upper models will play various multimedia files. If you can find one that will take a 5GB PCMCIA hard drive, it would be really nice. My 10 GB Archos Pukebox holds a lot of music! All but about 4 GB of everything I own. You really should check Ebay for the Pukebox and for a PDA if you find a model that will do everything you want. Check the model 6000 and just upgrade the drive.
For me, if I was buying a PDA, I wouldn't skimp on the features. Color display, onboard wireless ethernet and if possible a PCMCIA slot, though I don't know how many have that large slot, and of those how many would handle a hard drive. I'm also partial to the winCE machines, since it is easier to find programs for them, just get the winCE developement software and start porting code, though I guess you could port code for palm too, and there is always linux for an alternative OS.Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they? -
I found/liked this but it probably wont stay in my price range. Anyone feeling generous?
-
I've seen other refurbs sell for less than that. Like one model down from current model Sony. You might get lucky. Look at the Toshiba untis too, they retail for a bit less so you might get a lower auction price.

NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No no no no no no no no no !!!!
This thing both blows and sucks at the same time.
It's the Andus ReSound. It is a PROPRIETARY, WIRED device. Nothing like a thumb drive and the drivers won't work.
I'm in the middle of a credit card dispute because the piece of shit doesn't work. It's NOTHING at all as described.
The voice recording sounds like a cheap kids toy.
I bought mine from compgeeks.com
If you want a removable drive (true thumb drive) aka MP3 player, go grab the Creative MuVo (made by SondBlaster people). They have the 32MB version at Walmart. The 128 version goes for about $85-120 online. These are driver-less and function like TRUE thumb drives.

Does anyone know anything about this unit?

Also, what other units(besides ipod) should I check out. -
