Does anyone know how do use different emoticons (like say the ones here) in yahoo messenger? Is it possible, or am I SOL?

They have only a dozen or so to choose from for using within a message. I don't think you can include others in each message other than a link to them elsewhere.

sorta, but like with msn you can use you're own emoticons and i was wondering if the same could be done with yahell.

No, I don't think you can but............ you could doodle your own in the doodle pad. :cD

You could simply insert your own image file from you hard drive, plus all the ones here:

too insert your images just type:

[img> yourfile.jpg</img]
replace the <> with the correct bracket

jpg, jpe, gif, png are accepted formats, then just browse to the folder and select the image, note the image file name must match what you typed between the img mark-up. The instructions are just above the submit button. it works just fine. Then if you get the proerties of the imge,you can link it in other posts without having to upload it again.

Well, they have only a small selection, which they add to every so often. I use handmade, so it doesn't bother me. :cD But if you want "special" kinds, you can't just plunk them in.

Maybe he'll be happy with doodling some unique stuff. When I talk to family we do drawings of each other - unflattering, of course! :cD while we do 2 way webcam. so I like Yahoo a lot.

It has a few games too. :c)
