the samsung dvd-611 player says it plays vcds, but then when you read the manual, it says it doesn't play ANY dvd-roms, cd-r's, etc...is there any way to get around this or something? a file i can get or open it up or something...? some help would be greatly appreciated....

I have a SAMSUNG DVD 711 and in the doc they don't say a word about VCD,SVCD,MP3 capabilities... All I can say is that you have to use not-very-coloured CDRs like TRAXDATA silver or Imation ones ... You'll have some problems to boot at first (like me, you'll maybe try up to 5 times to boot the same SVCDR) but now I have no problems. Don't even try CD-RW ! You'll have freezes in the picture, mutes in the sound ... due to an optical problem I think ... Hope I helped you...
