    I want to lend my back-ups out but I dont want others to be able to copy them. Is there anyway I can protect my own discs so newbies cannot copy them?

    Nope. This question has been asked many times and there's no feasible way.

    Why would you want to lend your backup? Would you treat original discs in the same manner if they were to attempt to copy your original discs? How will you ever know if they copied them without telling you?

    Best bet is not lending.
