  1. Can someone please tell me how to burn an SVCD using nero. The mpg file is coded correctly, so when I load it into Nero to burn, I get no errors. Now Nero is ready to burn. First I get the option to change background, enter headers/footers for the "Created by Nero" screen. Then I burn the file. Nero says that it is successfully burned the video. But when I go to play the movie, it just sits at the "created by nero" screen. The video never starts. I explored the cd on my comp, and the video is there. I'm using Nero 6 Ultra-Edition. Anyone know why the video won't play. My Standalone DVD player has no problem playing SVCDs, I do it all the time. Anyone have any idea why this just sits at the Nero intro screen. Much thanks.

  3. Hey thanks bob, that worked. But guess what I don't have any sound. I think Nero just sucks. Can you or anyone else, suggest a better svcd recording app. I've had a lot of trouble with Nero, I think I'll just stop using it. Thanks.

...a bit of a generalisation if you ask me - Nero does a lot of things very well; but MPEG-2 authoring may be one of its weak points - there are a lot of comments on this forum about it not doing DVD very well either.

I think the problem you were having about the play button has more to do with the way PBC (Play Back Control) works in general on (S)VCD's, than any problem in Nero. I could be wrong on that front though.

For SVCD, try VCDEasy - it comes highly recommended.

    cheers,

  5. Ok, I didn't mean it sucked for everything. I still use it for mp3s. I will give VCDeasy a try though, thanks for the suggestion.
