Hi.
Is there a way to capture programs & movies off tv with out gettting them ugly black bars on the sides? With all my captures I have them, most times their un-even in sz. & it's bigger on the right & looks like crap.I don't want blk bars in my captures.
It's just a dam bore & shame having to use TMPGEnc to clean & crop up movies everytime for 2 1/2 hours just to get rid of them! Is there a way to capture with out getting them? Thanks.

Hello,
Possibly. Does your capture card let you record in 4:3 and 16:9??? If so try the 16:9 and keep aspect ratio. If it's available that should let you capture just the video and not the bars.
Worth a shot. Good luck.

there also might be a crop video setting set in your program. but also resolution has a lot to do with it. standard s/vcd need to have a set size. xvcd can be different.. i guess we need more info to help you.. ie res final format etc.

Why not use ati's mmc? It has a crop image feature. Read about it in the ati capture guide section of www.digitalfaq.com

I actually used & tried the ati back in my AIW 7500 days, but then I wasn't happy with the program opts. & results I was getting. And i've looked into the Newer one just alitle & liked the upgrades I saw.. Bit now, I'm really just tring to get past all this cropping issues
it's not looking good so far.
Is there an edit ware that one can use to crop out captured video with bars? & & thats faster than the TMPGEnc wares? -
VirtualVCR also has a crop image feature for capturing...
The black spaces on the left and right frame edges are normal, however. They are outside the television overscan area and are only seen when you are on the computer. VHS also has a scrambled area on the lower frame edge that is unseen on a normal TV, but is perfectly normal. -

No I don't want to overscan. See the thing is, ALL my captures have had these un-even black bars on them. And they show up on my entertainment center.. DAM UGLY.. I'm going to look into tring my ATI ware for some captures & see what I get..? Thanks.
