Hi. My question is, what's the best guide or method to getting a high quality result from ripping a DVD and converting to an SVCD? I've used Sefy's Newbie Guide for a long time, but I'd like to take a more advanced approach in hopes of getting better results. His guide makes for a good SVCD, but I want to tweak everything etc. etc. Thanks

Well there really is no "Best" method. The best is what works best for you. 8)
But you could try this very fast but still very high quality method:

The hard way:
1) Rip DVD to HDD with DVDDecrypter.
2) Rip the subs to .ssa with SubRip (if needed).
3) Open the VOBs with DVD2AVI and save project.
4) Create fake avi from the d2v file with vfapiconv
5) Load fake avi in Virtualdub, resize to 480*576/480 (lanzcos3) and possibly add subs using Avery Lee's subtitler filter.
7) Use wav audio from step 3 as audio source.
6) Frameserve to TMPGEnc (set at producing a SVCD mpeg).

It doesn't matter to me if it takes a long time to do, just as long as the end result is high quality. According to that, what method should I do?
