  1. Hi everyone! I have a Pinnacle DC10 capture card and Studio 8 software. I capture to AVI format with no problems, no skipping or dropping frames either, but whenever I try to convert from AVI to Mpeg with Studio 8, TMPGenc or T-Rex, it drops lots of frames, why??? My system is quite powerful and I have no problem with other issues...Thanx everyone!!

  2. I wasn't aware it's possible to drop frames when you encode.

Are you sure this is what you mean?

You can drop frames when capturing, because the computer may not be able to keep up with the source it's trying to capture.

I think you must mean something different, as encoding works completely differently.

    cheers,
    mcdruid.

(P.S. I'm not trying to be unhelpful, but people will need to understand the problem if they're going to be able to help.)

  3. Hi again! Yes, I know what I mean! I got my AVI file -already captured- saved in my computer and it plays perfect and smoothly, but whenever I encode it into MPEG I lose frames and the picture skips.....I have no idea why either and I know it's strange....
