I did a search for DV Audio
My search resultsNo topics or posts met your search criteria, try use less keywords and be sure to use search terms with at least 3 characters(searching for example for DV wont work).
Hmmm, not even my previous posts about No DV Audio show up!
Ok I posted this before that I used DVIO and a couple other programs, I capture video great but only once will I ever get audio! I never found the problem and went back to Analog captures off the DV camcorder!
Ok, a friend blew his system. Came over to visit awhile (till monday), brought his computer and something fried, POOF![]()
So I was gonna loan him mine to work on till we fix his. He installed his MYDVD onto my system, yep, you guessed we now have no sound captureing to MYDVD either!
My camcorder is a Canon z60 conected with a firewire card. We get perfect DV video, but still no sound!
Anything I do has sound except DV captures!
What can possibly be wrong here? This makes like 4 programs that do not work! 3 were freeware or demos.
DVIO will get sound one time when I do a test and play it back, but never again in the same day, even rebooting does not get the audio to work again.
One of the other programs previews the file durring capture, had sound durring capture from my Pc speakers, but file playback did not.
Forgot what the deal was on the third program.
Now MyDVD does not have audio either! This really bugs me! Mydvd is supposed to even make a DVD on the fly from DV captures! Why no sound?? The program even starts and stops the camcorder through the firewire connection. Since Video is good, and the program controls the camera fine, I beleave the firewire card and cable are fine. I have sound from the camcorder speaker, but not the pc. Since audio is IN the DV file, not a seperate source I don't understand why I don't get it!
Mydvd should know how to handle DV Audio durring capture, DV 1 or DV2 since it is doing the capture!
This system is 1700XP, built in sound (works perfect for everything else)
1gig ram, 2 hard drives, firewire, Ati AIW 7500. ect... IWILL XP333 system board.
Also I am interested in how the program works, as well as the fact he has a project he needs to finish while here.
WHen we get his system working we will be deleting MyDVD off mine, or when he goes home, whichever is first! Unless I like it, then I'll buy it myself
So anyone have any ideas how to get the sound working I would really aprecaite the help!
Thanks

This is probably a long shot, but check the recording volume.
Hello. -
Please ignore the part about MyDVD not working
It now works fine, but I still don't know why I can't get other programs to work.
The problem with Mydvd was really dumb and my fault!
In changing things around to connect his system, then changing to mine again, and with one of my extra system gone right now, I connected the wrong speakers, and they weren't turned on!
The ones turned on that I adjusted were not connected!
SInce I have always had the problem with no DV audio before when I DO have the right speakers connected and turned on, I didn't check them this time. Duh...
Sorry, -
Get the demo for EditStudio 4, it has audio levels meters so you can see if you are getting audio.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?
