  1. Basically i have some SVCD's that i would like to convert into Pal DVD's to play on my Playstation 2.

I Extract the file using ISO buster to my harddrive, then i have to convert this into i tihnk tis MPEG 2.

I would normally use TMPGEnc like i do for others, but i get errors about the resulution being 480 x 480 which isnt DVD size, so ive followed some other guides, and multiplexed and demulpilexed and joined them or whatever, (one of the guide on this site somewhere)

then used DVD patcher to patch the first header, and also convert it into PAL format.

Problem is after thats done, TMPGEnc still wont read it. Either will TMPGEnc author

So i tried to used Ulead Movie factory 2, and this just crashed.

    Any one got any Idea's?

    thanks

    nat

Exactly what errors are you getting?

Sorry I can't be more help, but you really just need to get TMPGenc to read and encode this file to DVD/or 1/2DVD Resolution. and u'll be fine.

  5. Im just getting a file unsupported error, after extracting the file from the SVCD. So i encoded it using DVD patcher into a DVD format size, and i still got the same problem.

How can i get TMPGEnc to read it?

Hmmm, my PS2 plays NTSC DVDs. Are you sure that's the problem? PS2s are picky with media.

I'd try a different type disc, before going through the headache of NTSC to PAL conversion.

My PS2 plays loads of NTSC discs I've made.

  7. I know that it doesnt Play NTSC disc's as it is a UK PS2. So the only region it will support is region 2 (PAL)

Unless i get a DVD region free disc for it, but these cost alot.

Ahhh, OK. I am talking about NTSC vs PAL -framerate, dimensions - not regions. :c)

    Two completely different things. :c)

The discs I author are region-free. Same with any you make from SVCDs. They will be region-free, so no problems.

I think you are thinking of rented or purchased NTSC discs, which will not play on a non-modded PS2, except by using a swap disc - available for purchase and - as far as I know - completely legal and inexpensive (if you have a lot of other region discs).
