I just bought my first dvd burner 30min ago (Plextor 708 with +R 8x burning) and I am so scared. I don't have money to blow on a 50 pc spindle that only burns coasters or crappy pixalated movies. I heard the dvd burner I bought works well with a lot of dvd media but I want to make sure I am okay fine.

This combatability page (http://www.plextor.com/english/support/media_708.html) says that Maxall, Ricoh, Taiyo, Verbatim, TDK, and Pioneer are all good for -R media. I have an Xbox so I think I could get +R or -R.

Can anyone recommend a media which to buy? I have gone through the media search and comments but can't really find one that works well with my burner because not many people have tested it yet. I almost don't care about speed either but it would be nice to get 4x discs.

Also, does anyone know where people search for the lowest prices? Pricewatch.com doesn't seem to have a lot of sources of cheap dvd media and I looked through the forums but couldn't find a nice general search engine for cheap prices.

    Thank you for any help!!!

Don't double post please and I have already answered this. When in doubt about compatibility with the authoring or burning program you are using, always test on an DVD RW+ or - first. That way you don't have to be scared? In the US I buy locally when on sale in packs of 50 or 100. I have bought alot of 50 packs of late for 59.00 plus tax for Memorex and Fuji.
