Hey! can anyone can help me work out what is not quite right with my setup?!?
I have tried creating back-ups using Anydvd & Clonedvd (both latest versions) and also DVDCopy Express 3.02;
the movies encode & burn fine, but when i play them in both my Xbox and Scan DVD player they whirr up for a while/skip a little/ at the very beginning of the movie.. sometimes they crash with 'disk error' on the DVD player but my Xbox is more patient - eventually they play through OK.
I have a Pioneer CDRW and a standard DVD drive that I am reading from.
I am using MIRROR DVD-R media (Tried with +R and they wldnt read in any drive after burnt)
What do you guys recon??? is it the media? the drive?
I have tried all the settings on AnyDVD (safe mode, just selecting the 'reader') to no avail.
Look forward to a reply as i have wasted lots of media![]()

I am using MIRROR silver minus R.
Its wierd some are fine, but the majority pause/glitch a bit mostly at the beginning of movies. -
Doh! I missed that out first time around...sorry.
Have you tried playing one of them on your HD through WinDVD or PowerDVD?

This is a link to the media that you use... as far as I can see it doesnt look too good. Try some Ritek, I am sure that 90% of the people here will back me up in saying that they are just about the best that you can get. -
i havent tried them on my PC - good idea will try tonight!
it looks like it could well be the media after reading your link - nice one thanks, will invest in some Ritek media!
*there is hope* (!) -
Good luck. 8)
Although I would bet that it works fine on the PC.
