  1. I am following the tutorial to combine a bunch of Simpsons episodes onto DVD. The tutorial is located here:

    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=161658

It uses TMPEGENC DVD Author to create the DVD files but I want to use Ulead DVD WOrkshop 1.3 instead - simple because it has kick ass menu creation. But when i burn to disc audio is out of sync If I follow the tutorial and use TMPEGENC DVD Author as instructed, everything is perfect. But i really really want to use DVD WOrkshop cuz of the menu authoring it has.....can someone help?

I tried choosing/editing all the templates in DVD Workshop to match my MPEGS (created from SVCD2DVDMPG) so that it won't re-encode but it looks like it does it anyway, which I suspect is the problem....sigh

There is a long thread somewhere on the forum (DVD Authoring i think) about dvd workshop. I think its title is something like "dvd workshop tips & tricks". In that thread there are loads of tip on how to make the app not re-encode your assets.

  3. Hey chrissy, i think i know the answer to this now. SVCD2DVDMPG appears to output MPEG1 with MPII 48khz audio?? I am choosing MPG->PS. Reason i say this is because when i right click on properties of my xxx_DVD.mpg file in DVD WS, it shows 320x240 MPEG1, MPII audio...

DVD WS tries to reencode to the "real" DVD standard (mpeg2 and not mpeg1 etc..). After playing with DVD WS for days i've tried just about every template and fiddled with every setting and still it reencodes my SVCD2DVDMPG mpgs....so i've come to that conclusion.

Am i right that your tool simply outputs MPEG1 if the source is VCD and MPEG2 (the "real" dvd standard) if the source is SVCD??? It seems to reflect this on the status bar of SVCD2DVDMPG when i select whichever radio button. So i think DVD WS wants only the "real" standard of mpeg2's....
