  1. Hello all,

I've learned a lot from this site and the may resources available on it, and in my studies I've become decently proficient at backing up my movies. Currently, since I prefer not to lose any quality, I tend to back up larger movies onto two DVDs. So when the end of the first DVD is reached, what currently happens is that the movie simply returns to the menu, and upon inserting the second DVD, the movie starts right up where it left off. Of course, this is great but I would really love it if I could incorporate a change disc graphic instead of having the first DVD return to the menu. When I use DVDXCopy, it inserts one, and I've used DVDFab, and it also allows this. But my tool of choice is really IfoEdit, so this is how I would like to learn to do it.

So that is my question. I've seen this question asked before, but no one answered. So I'm hoping someone will have an answer this time. Using IfoEdit, how would I go about adding a custom change disc graphic to the end of the first DVD? Any help would be great, thank you very much.

I never understood the need for this. Surely if you are watching
a movie, you know when it ends ?
(Unless you drink lots of beer )

I think in general this is hard. You are trying to add a new section
without disturbing the menu structure. It would be even more difficult to
have the message persist until you wake up and do something.

All I can think of is add a new vob unit to the last VOB with vobedit
but that will still go back to the menu.

A guy named 2COOL on doom9 is big into playing with PGCs with ifoedit.

  3. Thanks for the reply. Its not an issue of wondering when the movie ends, I just think that it is slightly nicer to have a change disc graphic come up when the end of DVD 1 occurs asking you to insert DVD 2. As I mentioned, DVDFab and DVDXCopy both do this, so I'm assuming its not entirely impossible and I was hoping that it would be possible with IfoEdit. And as far as it staying on this screen, that doesn't seem to be a problem with either of the other apps I mentioned. When their change disc graphic comes up, it stays up, so I'm assuming that preventing it from returning to the menu is not really an issue, its just a matter of knowing how to do it. Thanks for the help.

I have a tool here that is ideal for such a project and it's simple

I've just realised it can be used to split

    hmmmmmmm

I can even implement a change graphic I think, I'll have to look into that

    COOL
