  1. Ok, here are the details:

    I'm using DVD Shrink.
    I'm using Nero 5.5.10
    I'm using Memorex DVD+R
    My burner is NEC DVD+R

I have two DVD Players. 1)Panasonic-has played everything that I have burned. 2)Cinevision 650-Only played a backup I made of Beverly Hills Ninja, which I used DVDdecrypter to read and write with a Memorex DVD+r 2.4x write. But the movie was under 4.7 GB and it was an exact duplicate. What is confusing about this is, there goes the idea that my player doesn't play DVD+R and that the Memorex DVD+R is the problem.

I have DVDR (not sure if it DVD-r or +r) of concerts that work fine in the Cinevision, not just the ones that I make. I've tried using Nero DVD Video and DVD UDF/ISO. I've checked on dvdrhelp.com if my dvd player is compatable with DVD+r and it is (obviously if one of my backups worked on it) but it did say that it had problems with MPEG.

When I put my DVD+R in the player it recognizes it's a DVD, but does nothing.

All I want is my DVD's to work in as many players as possible. Please help????

I dunno. That's weird. You could try ... burning it with something else.

Get the trial version of CloneDVD and let that burn the disc, or try it with the trial of RecordNow MAX using "data dvd" mode.

  3. it's probably the memorex disc. When their dvds first came out, they were actually quite well. Then a few months later they horribly went downhill, so much so was the problem that their was a few postings on here about it. I would just try another media and avoid memorex like the plague

I hadn't really thought of that - I have never used Memorex media and assumed they were of reasonable quality.

Try Ritek, or if you want to just buy a 3-pack locally go with Verbatim and see how they work!

Or better yet, try Fuji or TDK. They are probably the best media that you can buy locally. Currently, Best Buy has a 25 pack of -R media on sale at 29.99.

This is true, Fuji hasn't let me down yet, I'm 100/100 with them.

But the Verbatims I've tried are good too, and are put together better (8 layers instead of 4).

  7. I'll try that, but isn't it strange that one Memorex DVD+R that I made did work? It was the only one that I made that didn't need to be reauthored (less than 4.7GB).
