    I was wondering if it is possible to, using a scart-l,R audio and Composite, connect the left and right audio into the sound card and the composite to a tv card. would it work for converting vcr to Avi or Mpeg

    Yep - if your connections are right and your tv card is also a capture card.

    You can buy scart to composite connections for exactly this sort of thing
