  1. I have had excellent results using Infiniti +RW. 10 out of 10 successfull writes.

Can I expect similar success with Infiniti +R.

I tried Arita +R and only 1 out of 5 worked.

  2. I got good results with Arita.

    1. What do you mean they don't work?
The burning process fails? (error log)
They dont play in the player?

    2. Whats the burner? Firmware?

    3. Are they 4x or 2.4x medias?
    Media code?

    4. Whats the burning software (version nr)?
    What settings? Tried other softwares?

You should tell us more details and fill out your profile

  3. Ok

My drive is a Panasonic. A06 And I am using CloneDVD and AnyDVD, both new versions.

The burn process is successfull but the disks do not work in my SONY DVD player (or any player). My PC refuses to read them as well.

I suspect that my drive does not like the Arita disks.

The main point of my question is are +R in general as reliable as a +RW. I know that the Inifiniti +RW have worked each time so want to know whether I am throwing money away if I buy a batch of the Infiniti +r

The Arita disks have a purple coating whilst the Inifinitis have a silver one. Don't know if this has anything to do with it ?

  4. Before blaming the madia you should try to burn the VIDEO_TS or ISO (created by CloneDVD) with DVD Decrypter, RecordNow or Nero.

I suggest you create an ISO with CloneDVD then burn it with DVD Decrypter before switching to other brands.

  5. If there was a problem with my software then how can you explain that I was able to get a 100% success rate writing to Infiniti +RW ?

  6. Burning softwares have serious burning engines while CloneDVD well...
it couldn't even burn a rewritable of mine two days ago when I got no problem burning anything with those softwares above.

I suggest you get the latest firmware to your drive that provides better writing strategies for new medias and/or try what I've told you.
